Reframery

Ten years ago, as a resident artist at the Mendocino Art Center I created a sculpture called Progression Structure #7. It was made of conduit tubing that was overstock from a construction job site. This sculpture was part of a series that was based on a system of numbers and was included in a one person show I had at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts called Permutations.

It had been quite awhile since it was last displayed and was just sitting in a corner of my studio collecting dust when I decided to repurpose the sculpture. I cut it into multiple parts and used that material to create seven new wall hanging sculptures I call Reframery.

I love making art using recycled materials and especially enjoy reassembling my own art into something fresh and new. A reframing of my ideas, if you will. Nothing goes to waste in my studio.
